
Congratulations to 2nd grader Jaxon Kelso, son of Curtis and Kacie Kelso, who received an Honorable Mention Award at the Kansas Art Education Association's statewide Blick Youth Art Month Art Competition Saturday in Topeka. The #zeroreasonswhy Student Council will host a Yellow Out for the Girls SubState Game on Friday. Wear yellow to the game. to show your support of ending the stigma around mental health here at USD 401. There will be ribbons and other items to share at the game.

And just like that, the JH Scholars Bowl season comes to an end. Both teams competed with gusto at the Twin Lakes League meet. Neither team medaled, but the final meet forged friendships - mostly about what to get on the way home! Next year going to be even better!

CHS students who are part of the basketball and FFA programs enjoyed a trip to Barton Community College to watch some Basketball. During the trip Haylee Miller had the opportunity to complete in the 3 point shootout at Halftime. She did so well she won pizzas for the group of 27 ! Way to go Haylee we are so glad you practice those, layups, free throws, and 3's!

Wren Higgins, Freshman, went to Sylvan-Lucas UHS to perform in the SLUHS Forensic Invitational. Having to step in to fill in for a Serious Solo role as well as her own Humorous Solo, she adapted her own piece and wowed the judges with this new interpretation. She broke into finals and not only improved in her HSA piece, came away with a 4th place medal! Chase HS Forensics continues to roll through the season and gaining momentum!
