Exploration of the beautiful national parks gives us a greater appreciation of the natural wonders in our country. (https://travel.usnews.com/rankings/best-national-parks-in-the-usa/) Exploring the cultures, lands, food, and languages of countries around the globe allows us to have a deeper understanding of the world we live in. (https://www.theinvisibletourist.com/japanese-for-tourists/) Explore the night sky and you gain a stronger grasp of the forces of science that explain the Newtonian principles that guide our future. (https://solarsystem.nasa.gov) Explore the choices set before you and you help determine the future you might have as a farmer, doctor, teacher, or in a career that hasn't even been imagined yet. (https://shptv.pbslearningmedia.org/collection/a-z-career-lab/) Each week the Summer Academy will lead this intrepid group of junior and senior high students in exploration to help enrich their summer break. There are still spaces available for those students interested meeting from June 6-30, Mon-Thu, 8:30-11:30, with a free lunch being served. Please sign up by June 3 here: https://forms.gle/fZtfw8zmBRSaLz128.

This year, our K-12 PE teacher, Sarah Staten, took a leap and applied for and received the $5,000 grant from the South Central Community Foundation. This grant allowed the purchase of 30 bicycles, 100 helmets, and necessary items for maintenance. The goal is to incorporate cycling into the PE curriculum, distribute helmets to students without one, and provide bicycles for use during our annual bike ride to Raymond.
