A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Chase Elementary students visited the Long Pumpkin Patch in Great Bend, with grades Pre-K through 3rd taking part in the trip. Each grade had favorite activities to enjoy during the visit, and most of the kids were especially excited about the goats at the patch. Students said they had a lot of fun exploring everything the pumpkin patch offered, including the petting zoo, hay maze, and pumpkin picking. Teachers were happy to see the kids enjoying themselves throughout the day. Kindergarten and first-grade students particularly loved the goats and the corn at the patch. Across all grades, the students chose smaller pumpkins rather than larger ones, and every pumpkin they picked was orange. Second and third graders had slightly different favorites than the younger grades, and they were excited but also a bit chilly since it was a cold day.

Halloween Parade

Today, for Halloween 2025, we had the K-5 come over to the high school to show off their costumes. As they went through the school, we had several high schoolers create a bridge for them to go under. There were several great costumes, such as Ghostface, the blow-up Among Us, and the blow-up Chicken. We appreciate the parents who let their kids dress up today, and the Staff who also dressed up and handed out candy. We hope to see the great costumes next year.

Gas Leak Scare Turns into Unexpected Day for Chase-Raymond Schools

At CRPI School, a gas leak caused all the students and teachers to be evacuated to the high school, where everyone went into lockdown. From a student’s perspective, it was confusing because they didn’t fully understand what was happening. Some students napped, watched movies, played games, and talked while teachers were trying to figure out what to do. The main focus for teachers was keeping everyone safe and staying updated on the situation. Some people ran into problems, like needing to use the restroom without knowing what was happening. When the speakers went off, a few teachers continued teaching during lockdown, while others followed the lockdown instructions. The administration and local authorities investigated and discovered that a fire alarm had gone off in the kitchen above the stoves. It turned out the real problem was a gas leak in the kitchen. After that, students and teachers were able to relax and enjoy the rest of the day until it was time to go home at 2:00 pm.
